ADC Healthy & Smoke Free in 2011!
As of January 2011, ADC's campus will be
smoke free, no smoking on the premises. Employees who currently smoke
have come up with ideas to help support each other to achieve this
goal! The ADC staff feels this is an excellent way to practice what we
promote . . . Live Better ~ Look Better
ADC Continues to go High Tech
During the past year, ADC has been working to implement Electronic
Medical Records technology throughout all three of their facilities.
These new changes will continue to happen over time because this is a
big undertaking, affecting every aspect of the clinic operations. Dr. OJ
Rustad shared, "It's a great way to continue to improve the quality of
our patient care, and it helps us continue our goals to Go Green
(paperless) and help the environment! We appreciate our patients'
understanding as we work through this exciting new update."
ADC's Wellness Committee
ADC's
staff also has a wellness committee that has been working together to make
ADC an even healthier place to work. The committee
has promoted healthy water and snacks; has formed a group that exercises
together regularly and implemented a Biggest Looser contest to promote
weight loss.
Advanced Dermatology Care's Story:
ADC was started in 1993 with the goal of providing the highest quality care in all three aspects of dermatology: medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
Initial offices were located in Apple Valley, Minnetonka, Plymouth and Shoreview, then later all services were concentrated in North Oaks. During that time, surgical and laser procedures were performed in the outpatient surgical suites of local hospitals.
After 11 years of growth and development, ADC moved to its current location in 2004, where 13 patient care rooms, 4 surgical and laser suites, a specialized consultation room and Mohs lab are now available in its own centralized state-of-the-art dermatologic office setting. In 2008, satellite clinics were opened in both Stillwater and Forest Lake. Since 1993, ADC has grown from 2 persons at its inception to now over 30. Currently, ADC is staffed by physicians (MDs) and midlevel providers (PAs), all focusing their care in dermatology, and adding their broad range of backgrounds to their expertise in dermatology.
In response to requests from our patients for cosmetic care, cosmetic services have been provided since 1993. This division of ADC is aptly named Advanced Esthetics (AE). Currently, AE is staffed by Certified Cosmetic Specialists who have received over 1000 hours of specialized training in cosmetic procedures, and have successfully passed both written and practical testings in each area. These Cosmetic Specialists include: physicians, (MDs), physician assistants (PA-Cs), nurses, and medical assistants.
We are involved in our community, regularly offer free skin cancer screening, and support charitable community events. We strive to be environmentally conscious and aware, believing skin and overall health and wellness are improved with respect for our natural environment. We have a strong awareness that the patient always comes first. We continually grow to meet the needs of our patients.
